It’s been a busy year for me, I have finished writing and recording the Song a Week project I started last year, remastered my “Installment” collection (which is being released slowly throughout this year, and next, under my “This Unique Museum” pseudonym), getting engaged and all the things that have fallen between. That being said there has been one thing has been absent in resent years from my musical repertoire and that is the live element of my music.
So… to answer this, in August 2011 I will be attempting to perform in front of a total of 10,000 people before I put the live element to bed. This exercise is simply so I get over my fear of performing and gain some confidence playing to an audience again. The shows will be a mixture of booked gigs, open mic nights and online-streamed events in which I will be keeping a diary of the performances, along with documenting how many people attend/watch and thoughts on that show.
Although playing live isn’t that unusual for the average artist it has been difficult for me given my tendency to get overly nervous prior to gigs and then spout streams of conscious that only make sense to the bonkers and the bewildered but I think it’s important for me to rediscover and reinvent that one thing that has been missing for some time.
As always, thanks for listening
