Given it’s the holiday season and I’m feeling rather festive, you will now be able to download the “Something for the Year” related albums for free over the next few days at Bandcamp.com.
Thanks for all your support and hope you all have a great new year.

Date: 10th October 2011
Attendance: 54
Set: Today Is Not The Day, The Human Heart, Sweetest Girl I Ever Saw
Thoughts: Great fun but had a few technical issues with feedback etc.. as i’m using a new guitar. I think a Soundhole cover would be a wise purchase.
Remaining Audience: 9,873
Venue: The Lamplighter, Northampton, UK
Date: 5th September 2011
Attendance: 31
Set: Today Is Not The Day, Sunday Comes Around, Sweetest Girl I Ever Saw
Thoughts: Enjoyable show this week and the other bands/singers were very, very good. Also stood up rather than sitting down which I think might be the way forward. Good times.
Remaining Audience: 9,927
Venue: The Lamplighter, Northampton, UK
Date: 29th August 2011
Attendance: 42
Set: Today Is Not The Day, Sunday Comes Around, Sweetest Girl I Ever Saw
Thoughts: For a first show the set didn’t go too badly and the audience were kind enough to indulge me. Still feeling a bit rusty though and my voice certainly needs a bit more work - Should now work towards a set that has a bit more energy.
Remaining Audience: 9,958
‘Something for the Year #4‘ has been released today and can now be purchased from iTunes HERE and is also available from all good digital outlets.
Something for the Year #4 is the final album from my Song a Week project and as with all my recent releases I’m looking for some help picking the track listing.
You can listen to the songs at either at YouTube or Bandcamp and then select your favourites using the poll below.

Many Thanks

It’s been a busy year for me, I have finished writing and recording the Song a Week project I started last year, remastered my “Installment” collection (which is being released slowly throughout this year, and next, under my “This Unique Museum” pseudonym), getting engaged and all the things that have fallen between. That being said there has been one thing has been absent in resent years from my musical repertoire and that is the live element of my music.
So… to answer this, in August 2011 I will be attempting to perform in front of a total of 10,000 people before I put the live element to bed. This exercise is simply so I get over my fear of performing and gain some confidence playing to an audience again. The shows will be a mixture of booked gigs, open mic nights and online-streamed events in which I will be keeping a diary of the performances, along with documenting how many people attend/watch and thoughts on that show.
Although playing live isn’t that unusual for the average artist it has been difficult for me given my tendency to get overly nervous prior to gigs and then spout streams of conscious that only make sense to the bonkers and the bewildered but I think it’s important for me to rediscover and reinvent that one thing that has been missing for some time.
As always, thanks for listening
Benjamin
